春は世界の至るところでとても重要な季節ですが、他の季節と同様に特別な行事、
休日、お祭りがあります。
西側の一部の国ではイース-ター（キリスト復活祭を祝う事はとても重要な事です。
（特にチョコレート産業は）イースターはキリスト教徒にとっての休日になりました
が（ローマカトリック教徒）キリスト教信仰は多くの西側の国で正式な宗教と
なりました。４月10日の金曜日はお休みでまたその日はバンクホリデイ
（銀行の休み・祝日）になるのです。

イースターの間に何をするかと言うと、特別な事は何もしません。
ただ、子ども達はチョコレートを沢山もらいます。
（イースターエッグとチョコレートバニー）
*Cadburyのクリームエッグは僕の大好物です。なぜかって？
　 本物のイースターの象徴は古代の世界に単を発しています。
うさぎと卵は子孫繁栄と新しい生活の象徴です、特に長く冷たい冬のあとは・・・。
それゆえイースターは実際には異教徒のお祭りなのです。
僕にとっては日本の春の感じや美しさのほうが好きですね、
特に今年は気候も暖かで、花見には絶好の機会だと思います。
もしクラスで一緒になったら花見の話でもしましょう。

Here is the mail mag. I hope it is ok!

Spring is a very important season for many cultures around the world.
And like any other season the spring has it‘s own special events,
holidays and festivals. In some parts of the west the celebration of easter is very important (Especially for chocolate manufacturers!).
Easter has become a christian holiday (Roman catholic) and
since christianity is the official religon for many western cultures,
we have the good friday holiday weekend on the 10th of april
which is also the first bank holiday (National holiday) of the year.

So what do we do during easter? Almost nothing special at all,
but children are given lots of chocolate; Easter eggs
(Cadbury‘s cream egg was my favourite) and Chocolate bunny‘s
(a bunny is a rabbit). Why?
Well the real symbolism of easter goes along way back into the ancient world, with rabbits and eggs representing fertility and new life...
especially after long cold winters, therefore Easter is actually a pagan celebration!

For me i much prefer the beauty and feeling of spring here in Japan, especially this year as the weather has been so warm,
the perfect chance for us to have enjoyed some Hanami (flower spotting?).
So if you have a class with me let‘s exchange hanami stories.

今回はイースターのお話でした、知ってはいましたが、日本には馴染みの無い
お祭りですが、なかなか奥が深そうですねぇ！イースターエッグはお菓子みたいな
ものなのですかね？一度どんなものか体験してみたいものです！！
桜の季節も過ぎ、いよいよ夏に向けて・・・でも梅雨はちょっと憂鬱かな。。。
